Buying Meat

Who said as a poor collage student you HAD to eat only top ramen?? I know you mother, family, friends and everyone else.  FALSE. Why not eat pork, chicken and steak?

Sound too good to be true?

lol well not for those who watch the sales and coupon!

I saved 67% the last time I went to Albertsons on just a shopping trip of meat!! MEAT!  I spent $22 on over 30 lbs of meat (pork, chicken breasts and chicken drumsticks) and saved $57!

Tips on Buying Meat

Look at Weekly Ads. Albertsons has a lot of Buy 1 Get 1 free meat sales which could be on pork, steak, fish, chicken.

  * Stock up when prices are low! Example: when I see chicken at $0.88 or lower a pound I'm buying a lot, when I see $0.75 or lower I am stocking up for a month of meat and freezing it!

* Look for Peelies and Discounted Meat! When meat is close to expiring and the store hasn't sold it yet they might put on a peelie (a coupon that you peel off the product) or discount it.  The meat isn't bad, just divide it into individual freezer bags when you get home and freeze it!
